Game of Thrones Prequel Spinoff Series the Dragon House took another step to make sure it’s going to happen. HBO has abandoned the idea of art that gives us a slight understanding of what the adaptation, based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood’s two-volume history book by House Targaryen, is all about. You’d imagine the House of the Dragon show to feature a lot of scaly beasts. It follows the history of the Targaryen family, set about 300 years before the Game of Thrones, at a time when they’re at their height of power, dominated by their dragon mates.
WarnerMedia, who owns HBO, dropped the original artwork via the blog post of WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar on Thursday, announcing the stunning decision to debut Warner Bros’ 2021 full-length HBO Max movies on the same day as their movie launches.
The production at House of the Dragon is still in the early stages, with Paddy Considine making the first major casting declaration, playing King Viserys I Targaryen.
It takes two for HBO to pursue the Game of Thrones spinoff series. The Naomi Watts-a prequel unofficially on The Long Night, which took place thousands of years before the Game of Thrones events, did not make it past its pilot episode after its initial cut was apparently not well handled.
House of the Dragon is looking forward to the premiere date of 2022.
Martin and Ryan Condal (Colony, Hercules) will be co-creators of the show.
Miguel Sapochnik and Condal will take part in the show, and the couple also will act as production staff along with Martin and Vince Gerardis.
Sapochnik, whose production credits include six episodes of Game of Thrones, won the Emmy and DGA awards for ‘Battle of the Bastards.’ He was nominated for another Emmy in 2019 for The Long Night’ and won the Emmy Award for Best Drama Series as executive producer for the series finale.
